The only thing that sustains one through life is the consciousness of the immense inferiority of everybody else, and this is a feeling that I have always cultivated.

Bushwhacked
This post has nothing to do with Bush43, the bush in question is the one attached to my dome. I've been growing my hair out since about this time last year; I got it touched up once, but no real cutting has gone down in close to a year.
A few weeks ago I got a card from a barber that cuts at a shop called Mason's down on H St, so I decided to see what was shaking down around the way, rather than trekking out to Alexandria to what had been my regular barber shop. I told Darrius (the barber) I'm putting myself in your hands, you're a pro, I trust your judgement. After asking a couple of questions, D busted out the clippers and with no preamble promptly cut off about 2/3 of the hair length that had grown out over the last 10-12 months. It caught me off guard, but after that first cut there was no going back. The cut turned out well enough that I can say with a high degree of certainty I probably won't be going back to see "The Maestro" on Queen St. in Old Town any time soon.
